Grimmway Farms, based in Bakersfield, California, is one of the largest producers of organic produce in the world. This enormous company started out by growing vegetables in the fertile soil of Kern County over 30 years ago and is now probably best known for its carrots. This success prompted Grimmway to take its first step towards protective growing by constructing a 2-hectare (or 5-acre) test glasshouse facility under the name of Crystal Organics. Crystal Organics has now decided to double the glasshouse area to 4 hectares (or 10 acres) and awarded HortiMaX a follow-up order.
